Frequently Asked Questions

Well, finally we got some questions. Keep shooting us an email and your question and our answer might show up here.

Q: Why are these gummies more expensive than other gummies?
A: The gummies are made from fruit, fruit pieces, vegetables and plants – only the best ingredients are used – no artificial ingredients are used, no dies – quality at its best.

Q: Where do these gummies come from?
A: They are made in Germany in factories specialized in producing premium gummies.

Q: What can I order online?
A: You can order online all our gummies at www.bears-and-buddies.com 24/7. Novelties will come soon!

Q: Why do you have a sign in the stores that says your gummies have no milk yet all of the ingredient labels say there is lactic acid in the gummies?
A: All of the gummies are gluten free; approximately 2/3 of them are lactose free - please see the ingredient labels for more clarification.

Q: Can we order gummies and novelties from your website?
A: At this time only the gummies can be ordered from the website – please visit www.bears-and-buddies.com 24/7.

Q: Can we make our own 1 lb bag?
A: Our sales associates in the stores can help you create your own bag – we offer the possibility of either making an 8 oz or a 16 oz bag – we limit the flavors to four for the purpose of a good tasting combination.

Q: Is this a Michigan product?
A: This product is manufactured in Germany.

Q: What do you use instead of gelatin in the gelatin-free gummies?
A: The gelling agent used in gelatin-free gummies is called Pectin. The main use for pectin (vegetable agglutinate) is as a gelling agent, thickening agent and stabilizer in food. The classical application is giving the jelly-like consistency to jams or marmalades which would otherwise be sweet juices. It is produced commercially as a white to light brown powder, mainly extracted from citrus fruits, and is used in food as a gelling agent particularly in jams and jellies as well as in sweets.

Q: Are there any nuts in these gummies?
A: All gummies cannot create food allergies such as nuts, soy or other food item because they are strictly made in factories which only produce premium fruit gummies.

Q: What kind of sweetener is used in the sugar-free gummies?
A: Maltitol – an alcohol sugar – It has 75-90% of the sweetness of sucrose (table sugar) and nearly identical properties, except for browning. It is used to replace table sugar because it has fewer calories, does not promote tooth decay, and has a somewhat lesser effect on blood glucose.

Q: Why are some of the gummies so soft?
A: The process of making gummies is somewhat simple and somewhat complicated… in order to create the texture that customers like the process is changed in certain steps to make the gummies softer or chewier.

Q: What makes these gummies different to e.g.”Haribo” or other gummies?
A: The gummies are made from fruit, fruit pieces, vegetables and plants – only the best ingredients are used – no artificial ingredients are used, no dies – quality at its best. No other manufacturer does it that way.
